Jay Cutler is a living legend in bodybuilding. He is still known in the scene today through his presence at events, competitions, seminars and his own companies.
The Career of Jay Cutler
Jay Cutler was born in the USA in 1973.
He won the Mr. Olympia in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010 and the Arnold Classic in the open class three times. The ongoing battle between him and Ronny Coleman is still on everyone's lips today.
Cutler began his career in a gym in Las Vegas to optimize his body and genetics for muscle building. At the age of 19, after only one year of training, he took part in his first championship - and immediately won first place in the juniors.
Parallel to his aspiring career, he studied criminal law with a focus on criminal justice.
In 1996, at just 23 years old, Cutler won the overall title at the NPC US Men's National Bodybuilding Championship show, earning his IFBB Pro card. Three years later, he qualified for the Mr. Olympia by winning the Men's National Championship.
Jay Cutler's Successes in Bodybuilding
Cutler is a hard worker. At his first Olympia he finished 14th, but he didn't let that get him down. He finished second twice in the following years, behind his strongest opponent Ronny Coleman, and finally won his first title in 2006.
Due to his success and charisma, he received a contract from Joe Wieder himself.
Cutler is still known today for his signature pose, Jay Cutler's "Quad Stomp". He did this pose at every competition and always caused a surprise.
Jay Cutler's success was also shaped by working with top coaches. One of the most legendary trainers in bodybuilding is Hany Rambod, who has guided multiple champions to the top. Learn more about Hany Rambod and his impact on bodybuilding.
Jay Cutler Today – Gym, Supplements & More
Cutler has not competed since 2013. What is impressive is that despite his radical muscle loss, he is still permanently in shape. Cutler still goes to the gym every day.
Today he lives in Las Vegas and runs several businesses, including his own supplement company “Cutler Nutrition”, under which he sells nutrition and clothing, his Cutler Podcast, and other businesses.
Even though Cutler is no longer actively involved in bodybuilding, he can be seen as a guest on many shows and still lets his community share in his life via social networks.
